Welcome to the start of another amazing year at Ponsonby Primary.  I am very excited to be joining the Ponsonby family and look forward to getting to know the students and parents over the coming term.

A little about myself; I have recently moved over from Australia where I have been living and teaching in Cairns for the last 6 years.  I have taught years 3, 5 and 6 over that time have made some great memories with students, parents and the community.  I know this will be the case here as well.

Outside of the classroom I am heavily involved in triathlons, particularly, Ironman races.  I have completed two full Ironman races and would like to add Ironman New Zealand to the list in the not too distance future.

Throughout the year the classroom will be open from 8:30 until the first bell to start the day and I will be available to assist students and meet with parents as it is required.  You can also contact me via email: mallen@ponsporim.school.nz

This term we have swimming on Tuesdays 11:30-12:00 and Fridays 12:30-1:00 and library sessions are booked in on Tuesdays 1:50-2:20.  Students are reminded to have the necessary equipment at school for those times.  Also, a note went out this week in regards to Goat Island Marine Reserve, please fill out the form and return as soon as possible,  We are scheduled to go on Wednesday 22nd February, we do require parent assistance so if you are available please let me know.
